Cowboy and Indian are about to embark on an exotic luxury cruise when their holiday plans are disrupted by some bad news: school is back! The distraught companions have no choice but to go to class. But the resumption of lessons soon gets interesting thanks to a big competition organised by the new geography teacher...
Cowboy and Indian return with a new caper full of craziness, absurdity and adventure. This time the two pals are not celebrating Horse's birthday as in A Town Called Panic, nor Christmas as in Toys adventures, instead they are celebrating going back to school. Yes, really! This new episode from directors Vincent Patar and Stéphane Aubier shows what happens when the school year starts again for these two stunned heroes. Just as they are about to head off on a luxury cruise, Cowboy and Indian realise that they have forgotten all about the resumption of classes. With their spirits crushed, they trudge back to school. But things get interesting again when the meet their new geography teacher, Mr Youri. To make lessons more enticing he decides to organise a big competition, with the prize being an unforgettable trip to the Moon. To win, Cowboy, Indian and their classmates, the farm animals, must work out the exact distance between the Earth and the Moon. The race for victory is on and our two lovable characters intend to finish first, with no idea too silly as they pursue their goal. Back to School Panic! is similar to previous episodes, meaning it is funny, madcap and totally off-the-wall. Image by image, the two directors give life into the two figurines who formed part of our childhood, giving them decidedly preposterous personalities. That leads to some deliciously funny situations and guarantees entertainment for young viewers, whether they watch it on their own or with the family. Needless to say, we are still amazed by the incredible animation technique. The explosively coloured sets are made from pasteboard, and each of the many character we come across are real toys. And thanks to the stop-motion technique, the miniature figures come to life naturally to give us a wonderful comedy featuring distinctive Belgian humour. Back to School Panic! is a short film with several layers of interpretation, making it suitable for young viewers as well as grown ups, with everyone sure to laugh their way through.
