In Zog and the Flying Doctors we return to the universe of Magic Light Pictures, whose adaptations of the picture books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler have established themselves as essential viewing for children. The playful rhyming narration is always a delight, as is the 3D animation in which the forms and colours create a unique world while staying faithful to the original illustrations. In this film children will renew acquaintances with Zog and Pearl, whom they previously met in the first film, entitled Zog, and that duo’s adventures continue here. Along with Sir Gadabout they travel to treat wonderful animals and creatures – until Pearl is snagged by the fate that her uncle imagined for her: to become an obedient little princess…
But once again, all’s well that ends well in this fairytale that showcases intelligence and solidarity with plenty of humour. Zog and the Flying Doctors is a treat for children and grown-ups alike!
