The Great Toy Robbery

Synopsis :

Tonight, three bandits are on the prowl. Their goal? To rob the most wanted man in the Wild West: Santa Claus. What will happen to the holidays for the villagers?

Benshi's review :

Hold-up au Far-West combines Western codes and holiday magic in a humorous twist. Drawing on an unusual idea—bandits who steal toys—the short film reflects on absurdity, childhood, and stereotypes. Here, the vigilante isn't as dashing as one might imagine, and the bandits lose their credibility sitting in front of their little train. Like the Daltons, these three bandits actually just want to rediscover their inner child. Children who aren't very good at sharing... When they wake up, the whole village is disappointed when the tree doesn't offer its usual array of promises. With its humorous voiceover and absurd humor, this Canadian cartoon is reminiscent of Tomi Ungerer's The Three Robbers. Happy Christmas robbery!
