Benshi's review :

Billy the Hamster has hit the big screen thanks to this series based on the children’s picture books by Catharina Valckx! To ride along with the little hamster cowboy is to revel in a whole salvo of original adventures in which the watch words are always friendship, solidarity and audacity! In his native Wild West, Billy is always surrounded by his dad and his faithful friends, Jean-Claude the Worm and Suzie the Stone Marten. And when trouble arrives, the neighbours in the village are never far away. Discovering a strange message from his missing mother leads our little hero to delve into the precious few memories he has of being with her. The unique treasure hunt that follows brings moving introspection and a beautiful demonstration of the meaning of real friendship thanks to the numerous characters he encounters in this adventure, notably Jack the Vulture and Farouk the Horse. This coming-of-age odyssey teaches Billy a lot about his mother’s past – he learns what an intrepid adventurer she was! And what better birthday present could there be than to renew ties with the creature who gave birth to him?
