This charming 2D animated short film takes us into Boris's bakery, where the tradition of bread-making is a craft passed down from generation to generation, as evidenced by the family photographs hanging on the wall. In a warm and cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of a warm croissant, we witness the daily life of this young baker with a round, smiling face who puts on his apron every morning and repeats, like a well-oiled machine, all the confident gestures of the artisan: waking up at dawn, lighting the wood-fired oven, choosing his flours, kneading the bread... A cheerful tune composed of a few piano notes accompanies this process, which nothing seems to be able to disrupt. But when his flour allergy strikes, everything goes wrong!
Clouds of flour mingle with Boris's uncontrollable sneezing, all in the hushed atmosphere of the pastel-colored setting. The music gradually enriches itself with trombone and tuba notes, while Boris uses every trick in the book to try to overcome this new handicap. Unfortunately, it seems that it's impossible to bake bread with dignity when you're wearing a mask and a tuba on your head, and mittens instead of hands!
With humor and tenderness, the film recounts Boris's feelings of failure, but above all the power of solidarity and collective intelligence. Because it is by sharing knowledge and thanks to the goodwill of the village children that the bakery business will find a new lease of life. Boris's Bakery is a funny and optimistic film that makes you want to get your hands dirty!
